Norton Travel System with FREE Car Seat

Friday, May 13th, 2011

Representing a cracking buy from all viewpoints, this Storm Travel System from Norton is currently on offer at only £446.50. Not only is is a pushchair, it also includes a matching carrycot, and also a matching Group 0+ Car Seat, which is effectively thrown into the package for free.

The Norton Storm Travel System can be used from birth, given that it comes with a carrycot (which is a lie-flat solution) and converts the pushchair into a pram. The Group 0+ car seat means that your baby can be used from birth to 13kgs, and the compatibility between the pushchair and the car seat is very easy to use.

Some of the features of the Norton Storm are:

  • Ultra lightweight and compact chassis
  • Separate deluxe carrycot (from birth) is available including quilted liner and mattress
  • Reversible seat unit (from birth)
  • Use the 0+ Monza car seat to make a complete pram travel system
  • Multi position recline
  • includes PVC rain cover
  • includes foot muff  and changing bag
  • adjustable/removable bumper bar
  • rear wheels run on chromium plated ball bearings for a smoother ride
  • spring loaded opening chassis
  • telescopic handle

Not a bad system for the price – it must be told. We are not sure how long this price will continue for, so if you are considering a trustworthy travel system that you know is going to do all that you need it to do then the Norton Storm certainly ticks all the boxes!

A Rearfacing car seat for under £200!

Wednesday, April 13th, 2011

Considered by a lot of professionals to be the safest way to travel with young babies and children, the izi Combi can be used from birth to approximately 4 years old, or between the weights of 0-18kgs. The BeSafe izi Combi can be used in the rearward facing position from 0-18kg and in the forward facing position from 9-18kg and BeSafe do not recommend using the seat in forward facing mode until at least the age of 2 ½.

Studies show that the rear facing position is in fact 5-times safer than forward facing seats, and given how easy the BeSafe izi Combi is to install using adult seat belts, a front brace with a leg/front strap, the izi Combi is a great car seat that can be used through to the age of 4 year old.

Just to look at the car seat there is plenty of padding, and the side impact protection is good, especially for the heads, legs and body and the seat itself also features a ‘head hugger’ to provide the perfect fit from 6 months onwards.

Currently on offer in the Soft Pink for only £199.99 for the belted version, this is a cracking price for a) a rearfacing car seat but also b) a BeSafe izi Combi.

Below is a video demonstrating the safety elements and technology behind the rearward facing car seats from BeSafe.

Britax Baby-Safe SHR II Gets Mother & Baby Best Buy Award

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

Reviewed in the March Edition of Mother & Baby magazine, and up against some very tough competition from the usual Group 0+ contenders including the Maxi Cosi Pebble, Jane Matrix Light, Recaro Young Profi Plus and the Concord Intense, it was the Britax that stood out amongst the crowd and receieved the highest rating within the category.

Some of the reviews touched on the fabric as being ‘lovely and soft’ as well as being ‘well-padded’ whilst the sheer fuctionality of the SHR (standing for single handed release) being present as well as this not impacting on the handle being comfy to hold whilst carrying your precious cargo, it does go to show that Britax have given great consideration not just to functionality, but also to practicality too.

The weight of the seat is 3.9kg, which makes it not as light as the Recaro Young Profi Plus (at 3.5kg) but lighter than the Maxi Cosi Pebble and much lighter than the Jane Matrix Light (which weighs 6.5kg).

The verdict of the Mother & Baby Magazine review is as follows:

“Sturdy with a reassuringly safe feel. It’s versatile – fitting any of the Britax pushchair range and is seat belt, ISOFix or standard base compatible. An excellent all-rounder offering value for money.”

Given a rating of 4.5 (out of 5) it came out as the winner against the rest of the infant carriers, having accumulated scores of 4.5 for Value, 4 for Practicality and 4.5 for Quality, it is understandable why the Britax Baby-Safe Plus SHR II was therefore awarded the status of Best Buy from Mother & Baby magazine.

The overall standings are shown below with their rating, out of 5 displayed next to the product names:

Mothercare Travel Tot – 3

Concord Intense – 3

Jane Matrix Light – 3.5

Maxi-Cosi Pebble – 4

Recaro Young Profi Plus – 4

Britax Baby-Safe Plus SHR II – 4.5

It was the Britax Baby-Safe Plus SHR II that was awarded the Mother & Baby Magazine Best Buy award. For further information on the Britax Baby-Safe range of car seats, please visting our website at the following address: MumStore.co.uk

Lobster For Tea Anyone…!?

Friday, January 21st, 2011

If you fancied Lobster on the table when you got in every night you might think it was an excessive and expensive habit – but not with the new Phil & Teds Lobster, the highchair designed to clip on to your table.

The new Phil & Teds Lobster is a pretty tidy addition to the family, which can be packed away rather small and neatly for easy storage. It features a carry bag which you can use to take your new Lobster highchair with you to restaurants or to your friends even – it gives you the flexibility to not have to worry if there will be a highchair or not because it is so easy just to take your own. Coupled with that there is also the familiarity (and love) of the highchair by your child which makes them comfortable and relaxed in their often new surroundings.

The Lobster features a 5-point safety harness designed to comfortably retain your child whilst they are busy eating up all of their food (easier said than done!). Another included feature of the new Lobster is the tray which slides just under the top claw and is there to try and limit the amount of mess that is caused at meal times!

The fabrics are all easy to clean making for a hygenic atomosphere, and with colours of Black and also Black / Red there are a couple of options for if you have a preference.

The Phil and Teds Lobster is a clip on highchair which can be used between the ages of 6 months to about 3 years old (safety certified weights), and a maximum weight of 17kgs which is around 37lbs.

Latest Tomy Digital Baby Monitors

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

Building on the overview we released on the  Tomy Baby Monitors, we have now added a few more monitors to our store. This time Tomy have released a few monitors which are even more technologically advance than the last range of digital baby monitors.

All utilising the ever-present 2.4Ghz digital frequency waveband the digital baby monitors are able to provide 100% digital privacy without compromising on any other features.

Tomy Digital Baby Monitor – SR200

The more basic model by pecking order, but certainly not from what it lacks in…this SR200 digital monitor offers a 300m range and is designed for parents who want reassurance when it comes to monitoring their baby – but also want value for money at the same time, which is possible with the SR200 – at under £50.

Tomy Digital Baby Monitor – SR325

Building upon the feature list of the SR200 this SR325 also includes a LCD display which allows the room temperature of the baby unit to be displayed and monitored as well as a useful ‘timer’ feature too – ideal for feeding times, or for medication reminders. Other features include the ability to remotely play a lullaby from the baby unit – or to use it as a nightlight for your child too which you can then activate remotely to avoid waking them up when you would otherwise enter the nursery to turn off the lights.

Tomy Digital Video Baby Monitor SRV400

Combining design and functionality has never been an easy task, but with the new digital video baby monitor from Tomy both elements work very well. The product uses a 2.4″ LCD display to allow you to see your baby clearly – but it is also possible to connect the parent unit to your PC allowing you to record, play and store baby’s movements.

Common features throughout the new range are the alarms which trigger when the unit is ‘out-of-range’ or has a ‘low battery’. A belt clip is also included on the parent units meaning a hands free monitoring device when and wherever you need it. All Tomy digital baby monitors also include the 2 year Tomy Guarantee.

Pram Pack – Travel With Your Pushchair

Monday, December 6th, 2010

The new Pram Pack is there to do exactly that…pack up your pram or pushchair securely and safely to prevent damage when travelling on a plane with your pram or pushchair.

One of the latest and innovative products that we have had into our warehouse for a while now – but actually, this Pram Pack was developed in Norway and has actually had a lot of input from the Scandanavian airlines. Over time, modifications and working with the airlines has meant that the product is now accepted as the ‘only’ way  to transport your pushchair on an airplane. So positive and behind the product are the airlines, that they in-fact now offer a ‘no-quibble’ payout if there is damage to the pushchair caused when being transported by the airlines.

The Pram Pack itself is designed as a roll up bag, which then can be un-rolled and opened up to allow you to sit a pushchair chassis inside the bag. All you need to do then is to wrap up the sides of the pushchair and strap together via clips and tighten with buckles. The image below shows how simple the Pram Pack is to use.

It is an easy to use product…

  1. Unroll the bag, unfold the sides and sit your pushchair on the main base of the Pram Pack.
  2. Pull the two ‘wall sides’ up together, connect the straps and tighten up
  3. Pull the top flap up over the top of the folded up pushchair
  4. Strap the final flap over and securely tighten up ready for travel!

The Pram Pack is designed to work with 99% of pushchairs including doubles and 3 wheelers. The beauty is that the product adjusts around the pushchair which is what makes it so compatible with all types of pushchairs.

Available now from MumStore. Click here to see the Pram Pack Pushchair Travel Bag.

Expanding the Norton range of Prams and Pushchairs

Thursday, November 25th, 2010

Norton Prams Logo

Norton are certainly a very well established motorcycle manufacturer, but they have been building up a nice range of pushchairs over the last few years – and over time have tweaked the pushchairs and prams to become travel systems – also making them compatible now with the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix and  the Maxi Cosi Pebble Group 0+ car seat, resulting in a Maxi Cosi compatible Travel System.

To look at – the range of prams and pushchairs consists of the following:

  • Norton Pure – a suitable from birth pushchair
  • Norton Style – a suitable from birth stroller
  • Norton Dual – an all-in-one carrycot car seat suitable from birth to 13kgs
  • Norton Ultimate – a 3-in-1 pram system including carrycot and pushchair and Group 0+ car seat too!
  • Norton Storm Pramette – a suitable from birth pramette pushchair, where the seat unit becomes a carrycot
  • Norton Storm Travel System – a pushchair with car seat compatibility

If you want a travel system that represents good value for money than the Norton range should certainly be considered. The pushchairs themselves are mainly considered lightweight and with a pretty compact fold, perfect for all conditions where you need a pushchair that you can rely upon. The compatibility element of the Norton travel system range is also one to note – especially now that there are adaptors that allow the Norton pushchairs to be used with Maxi Cosi Cabriofix and Pebble car seats! Wonderful news!

Britax B Dual – A Great Value Double Pushchair

Friday, October 29th, 2010

Now you can get a double pushchair for under £300 – the Britax B-Dual 4 wheeler double pushchair to be more precise!

Designed to be used as a travel system (when you connect the Britax Baby Sleeper or the Britax SHR range of car seats to the chassis), this Britax B Dual pushchair can also be used as a single pushchair. In order to use the pushchair as a double pushchair – all that you need to do it to add the second seat part onto the rear of the chassis and ‘lock in’ via the securing catch lock. The clever bit about the B Dual is that you can fold the pushchair with the second seat still attached without causing any hinderance to the fold mechanism.

Some of the features of the Britax B Dual are:

  • Additional removeable second seat
  • Easy compact fold
  • Quick release wheels
  • 5-point safety harness
  • Mulit-position seat recline
  • onboard suspension
  • adjustable handle height
  • detachable showerproof hood (but FREE PVC with the MumStore offer)
  • Lockable or swivel quick release front wheels

Just a few points to note on just what a cracking value offer this Britax B Dual double pushchair is! If you want to have a look any further, have a look at the B Dual in Neon Black or Venetian Red – both priced at £299 and include the pushchair, second seat and a pvc raincover too!
